Rostering Status Column on Staff Page
Overview
The following article explains the difference between "rostered" and "unrostered" status in the Educator Portal.
Status Definitions
This column is only relevant and visible in SIS-managed programs. All staff members will have a status of either "Rostered" (if they were added to the Educator Portal via the SIS file upload) or, "Unrostered" (if they were manually added to the Educator portal).

Staff members (including educators) with a Rostering Status of "Unrostered" will not be removed from the portal if they are not found on the nightly uploaded SIS file. This allows, for instance, a long-term substitute, to be added as an educator who can then rate students, even if they are not included on the SIS upload file.
What happens to Unrostered educators who are later added from a SIS file?
Their status will be promoted from "Unrostered" to "Rostered." Whatever associated information is found on the SIS file will overwrite any differing information that was manually uploaded (such as different name spellings). The system determines a match based on the email address only and ignores the spelling of the first and last names that were used when they were manually added to the system and uses the name/spelling that are in the SIS file.
Conversely, if an "Unrostered" educator gets added to the SIS file but with a different email than what they were manually added to the Educator Portal with, they will be in the system twice, once as an unrostered educator with email #1 and once as a rostered educator with email #2. Because the staff email is the primary key by which profiles are created, the system will consider them be two separate individuals when this happen. If this occurs, staff with admin-level access can delete the profile with the inactive email. If staff have completed ratings under both accounts and they need to be combined, please contact the Technical Services Team for assistance at support@apertureed.com.
