Program Admin - Delete a student
Overview
This article explains how to delete a student from the DESSA System.
Process
Deleting a student does not delete their ratings from the system, as the ratings will be included on site-level and program-level reports. Students can be fully restored, if they are added back into the system with their same Student ID. If you wish to delete ratings from the system, that can be completed by following these steps.
If your program is SIS-managed, these steps do not apply, as you cannot delete students manually in the program. Students can only be removed by importing a new rostering file that does not include the students to be deleted.
To delete a student, follow the steps below:
1. Program Admin: Select the gear icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
2. From the dropdown menu, select Admin.
3. On the left side of the screen, select Students (Image 1)

4. Search for the student by scrolling down the screen. You may also search for the student by name or Student ID using the search bar at the top left of the screen (Image 2).

5. Click the trash can icon to the far right on the line with the student's name (Image 3).

6. You will be prompted with the question: “Are you sure you want to delete the Student ['student name']?”. Select Yes, Delete (Image 4).
