Submitting Parent Ratings

Overview

Parents/guardians can complete the 72-item DESSA, 36-item DESSA-SSE, and the 8-item DESSA-mini forms. They may submit it in paper form to the Educator. The Educator will then enter the information into the system on behalf of the parents/guardians. For example, parents and guardians can complete the rating during a conference with the classroom teacher.

How Educators Add Parent Ratings to the DESSA System

To add a parent/guardian rating, follow the steps below: 

1. Select Gear Icon at the top of the screen and click on Admin.

2. Select Guardian Rating on the left

3. Search for the student's name in the search field as shown below.

4. Enter the first and last name of the Rater (name of guardian).

5. Select the actual rating date and the appropriate DESSA form used.

6. Enter the ratings and select Submit Rating in the lower right.

7. The ratings can be assessed on the Individual Student Report once submitted.

• Data and Insights ➔ My Students / Competencies ➔ clicking on a student OR search for the student in the search bar.

Note: Guardian Ratings can now be submitted on a date before a Rating Window begins as of September 12, 2022.
