Rating Completion Flow with Student Rating and Complete Post Rating Summary - New Spring 2023 Product Features

Overview

Currently, raters complete the DESSA in a table view form. However, we know it may be preferable to view one question at a time. With this update, raters have the choice to keep conducting ratings in the traditional table view, or switch to the single question flow. 

Welcome to the new Single Question Rating Flow!

How to start your Rating using the new Single Question View

1. From the Ratings screen, select the View Mode dropdown menu (#1 on Image 1).

2. Select Single Question view mode to have only one question displayed per page.

3. Now select the student's name (#2 on Image 1), where you will see which DESSA form you will be completing (#3 on Image 1) along with the instructions for completing your rating (#4 on Image 1).

4. Select Get Started to begin answering the questions for your assessment (#5 on Image 1).

5. Once you've selected Get Started from Image 1, begin answering the assessment questions.

• Radio buttons are displayed to answer each question (#1 on Image 2)
• The questions will auto advance upon clicking 
• Navigational options (#2 on Image 2) include:
  • Previous Question
  • Skip Question (this is only available on a Full DESSA) 
  • Next Question (this will only appear if you have gone back to view a previous question)
• Instructions can be reviewed at any time by clicking on Instructions (#3 on Image 2)
• If this student should not be in your Rating List or has not been observed for the minimum 4-week period. Select I am unable to rate this student (#4 on Image 2)

6. Before submitting the form, you'll see a prompt if you are required to complete any skipped questions (Image 3).

7. Once the rating is complete, you will be able to see a Summary for this student and where that student falls on the Descriptive Range (#1 on Image 4).

• This Summary will give you the option to:
  • Complete a Full DESSA (if certain conditions are met (#2 on Image 4).
  • Begin rating the next student (#3 on Image 4)
  • Click Show Students (if not already visible) and select the next student you wish to rate (#4 on Image 4).

Congratulations, as soon as all Student Ratings are completed in your Rating List you will be presented with our new Post Rating Educator Summary!

The Summary will give you insight into how you can use the data garnered from the ratings just completed.

Our Post Rating Educator Summary features two key items:

1. A preview of your My Students Report (accessible by clicking View Details)
2. A View Strategies option which, based on the distribution of students in your Rating List, provides a specifically tailored Strategy based on your classroom makeup.

(Depending on whether the percentage of students in the Need for Instruction range from your Rating List is above or below 20%, the recommendation will address either Foundational Practices or Positive Climate strategies)
