Progress Monitoring Report

How can I track student skill growth over time?

As you leverage DESSA data to inform tiered interventions and instruction, you can easily review individual student progress with the Progress Monitoring Report. This report displays the amount of change in student DESSA scores across different rating windows to help inform any necessary adjustments with targeted support planning. If you’re comparing DESSA screener scores, you can review the change in Social Emotional Composite (SEC) scores and if you’re comparing full DESSA assessment scores you can also review change in individual competency scores. With this report, you can make the most of your multi-tiered support efforts by incorporating up-to-date student data on an ongoing basis to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.

Steps to Create the Progress Monitoring Report:

1. From the Data and Insights screen, select My Students on the left side
2. Locate the student by searching for their name in the upper left-hand search bar or by scrolling down on the page and selecting their name
3. Locate a rating you would like to compare and check the box on the left side of that rating
   1. Note that you will now see a Compare button above the column of checkboxes
   2. Also, note that any check boxes that become greyed out is because those ratings used a different form than the selected rating)
4. Select additional ratings to compare to and then click the Compare button

A few points to be aware of:

• Up to four ratings for a student can be compared 
• Only ratings from the same rater type (teacher, parent, or student rater) can be compared
• The report is not listed on the left side of the Data and Insights page, the comparisons are made from students' profiles (My Students, on the left side of Data and Insights)
• Until at least one rating to be compared has been selected, the Compare button is not visible
• A table will be provided to give guidance on what supports are recommended, depending on the amount of change in T-Scores

Analyzing Progress Monitoring Report:

• A chart will display all selected ratings, graphing the score progression
• A Description Of The Difference will be given between each score on the graph
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen to see a table of guidelines based on the differences in scores
