What are Conditional Assignments? How are they set up?
Overview
This article explains what conditional assignments are and how to set them up.
What are conditional assignments?
A conditional assignment is a follow-up assignment that is triggered based on the t-score on an original assignment. Typically, a full DESSA (or DESSA HSE) is triggered when a student receives a t-score on a DESSA-mini or DESSA HSE-mini within the Need for Instruction range.
Although it is recommended, it is not essential that conditional assignment is set at the beginning of the Need for Instruction range. A Program Administrator can enter a T-score of their choice when setting up a Conditional Assignment.
Score Ranges (T-score)
- Need for Instruction Range: 40 or below
- Typical Range: 41-59
- Strength Range: 60 or higher

A Program Administrator can set up conditional assignments in the Yearly Setup section. Visit What is the Yearly Setup? How do I complete it? to learn more about creating conditional assignments.
