Overview

The DESSA Student Self-Report for middle and high school students engages students in a reflection of their own social and emotional strengths. The DESSA SSR is typically completed by students in the DESSA Student Portal, where they can set goals for personal growth. In situations where students are not using the DESSA Student Portal, a printable PDF of the rating form is available. Please note that if students complete their rating on paper, additional steps will need to be taken in order to score the assessments.

Note: These forms are meant to be used for completing ratings and should not be used for informational purposes such as posting them on district websites or sharing them in parent letters. If you need to share out the DESSA Rating Assessment forms for informational purposes, please use the watermarked forms found in the "Dessa Forms for Parents" article. 

Paper vs Electronic Assessment

Please note, it is strongly advised that the DESSA SSR is taken electronically so that historical data of your students’ results can be kept and utilized. Taking the assessment electronically also allows you to take full advantage of the various features and capabilities in the DESSA System Educator and Student Portals.

The attached PDFs (one for middle school students and one for high school students) is provided for informational purposes regarding the contents of the assessment and we do not recommend that it be used to administer the assessment. If your students do end up taking the assessment via paper however, you will need to utilize one of the following options to score and interpret their ratings:

1. Setup your students on the Student Portal and have them re-take the assessment again online.
2. The educator can login to the Student Portal on their student’s behalf and fill out the assessment for each student.
