Student Portal: Viewing Student Goals, Challenges, and Progress
Overview
As a Program Administrator, Site Leader, or Rater, you can view student progress towards the goals and challenges that students have set for themselves after taking the DESSA Student. You can also view the progress towards completing Goals and Challenges as students complete tasks, view attachments submitted by students, and leave comments on their activity.
Step-by-Step Directions
1. Log in to your DESSA System Educator Portal account.
2. Click the Data and Insights tab in the top menu.
3. On the My Students report, scroll down to the search field that says Search by Student Name. Enter the name of your student and click on the student name in the list below.
4. You will now see a detailed summary of this particular student’s DESSA data. Scroll down to see the sections titled Student Goals and Student Challenges (Image 1).

5. Here you can see the status of each Goal and Challenge, Deadlines, Challenge Types, how many Tasks have been completed related to this Goal or Challenge, and you can click on the Updates icon to view even more details (Image 2).

6. Under the Details section of each Goal or Challenge, you can see a detailed summary of how many tasks have been completed by the student (Image 3).

7. Under the Updates section, you can see comments sent by the student, and you can share comments with the student regarding this particular Goal or Challenge (Image 4).

8. Under the Attachments section, you can view any documents that have been uploaded related to the tasks (this could be a draft of an essay, for example).
