Overview

This article provides steps to access critical reports for making data-informed instructional decisions with DESSA scores. For additional details on DESSA reports please download a copy of the Site Leader Reports Guide in the Downloads section.

My Students Report

The My Students report displays students organized into the descriptive ranges of Need for Instruction, Typical, and Strength. The top of the report contains a bar graph. The bottom of the report contains individual students that can be sorted by Grade, T-score, Last Rating Form, or Last Rating Date. To open an individual student’s rating report, select their name.

To access the My Students report

1. From the Dashboard, select the Data and Insights tab at the top of the screen.
2. Select My Students from the left-side menu.
3. Select filters that match your search.
4. Select the Apply button to run your search.

To open an individual student’s Rating Report

Select their name from the list at the bottom of the My Students report. You can also access individual students at any time by entering their name in the search bar at the top right corner of the screen.

To export data into a CSV file

Select the blue Export CSV link at the top right corner of the individual students list.

Competencies Report

The Competencies view allows Educators, Site Leaders, and Program Administrators to view the competency score breakout across their students. They can identify competencies that may be most in need for instruction universally or identify a group of students they may want to pull out to do a small group activity in a particular competency.

To access the Competencies report

1. From the Dashboard, select Data and Insights tab at the top of the screen.
2. Select Competencies from the left-side menu.
3. Select filters that match your search.
4. Select the Apply button to run your search.

To export data into a CSV file

Select the blue Export CSV link at the top right corner of the Student Breakout section.

Grade Level Report

The Grade Level view allows site leaders and program admins to view the breakout of student competencies across grade levels.

To access the Grade Level Report

1. From the Dashboard, select the Data and Insights tab at the top of the screen.
2. Select Grade Level from the left-side menu.
3. Select filters that match your search.
4. Select the Apply button to run your search.

NOTE: There is no CSV export for the Grade Level report. This data is available in the Rating Export section.

Student Goals Dashboard

The Student Goals Dashboard allows educators, Site Leaders, and Program Administrators a high-level view into the goals that students have set and achieved within the Student Portal.

To access the Student Goals Dashboard

1. From the Dashboard, select Data and Insights tab at the top of the screen.
2. Select Student Goals from the left-side menu.
3. Select filters that match your search.
4. Select the Apply button to run your search.

Student Challenges Dashboard

The Student Challenges Dashboard allows educators, site leaders, and program admins a high-level view into the challenges that students have accepted and completed on their growth plan within the Student Portal

To access the Student Challenges Dashboard

1. From the Dashboard, select the Data and Insights tab at the top of the screen.
2. Select Student Challenges from the left-side menu
3. Select filters that match your search.
4. Select the Apply button to run your search.
