Integrating with the Jupiter student information system
Overview
This article contains guidance on setting up a SIS integration using the Jupiter Automated Import/Export functionality.
Integrating with Jupiter
Setting Up The Integration
- Login to Jupiter as an admin with access to all schools that need to be exported.
- Go to Setup > Import/Export
- Use the following instructions to set up a customized export using these options:
Export Students
- Click Export Students
- In the top box:
- Make sure you are exporting All Students at All Schools
Save These Settings | Check this box and name the export something you will remember. Example: "DESSA Students Export" |
File Type | .csv is preferred, but .txt is also acceptable |
Line Breaks | LF or CRLF both work fine |

DESSA System imports each morning at 2 AM EST. We recommend scheduling your files to be sent daily no later than 1:30 AM EST. |
Export End Date | Set this date for the end of the school year or contract to ensure the integration continues to work through the school year |
Email Error Reports | Check this box and input your email if export reports are desired |

*Note: Anything stared and italicized is considered a "Custom Field" in Jupiter and would have to be configured in Jupiter as such by going to Setup > Custom Fields. Once configured, students would then need to be marked appropriately in Jupiter for these fields to work.
- After all of the settings above are configured, click "Export" to send data immediately and begin the integration process.
Export Staff
- Click Export Staff
- In the top box:
- Make sure you are exporting All Staff at All Schools
Save These Settings | Check this box and name the export something you will remember. Example: "DESSA Staff Export" |
