DESSA Competency Alignment to States' Standards

Overview

Many states in the U.S. have learning standards or benchmarks for K-12 students related to social and emotional competencies. In Fall 2022, we compiled a crosswalk between the DESSA (First Edition) competencies and each respective state's standards and benchmarks. For states that did not have standards or guidance at that time, we provided a general crosswalk between the DESSA (First Edition) competencies and the widely-used CASEL competencies. 

With the publication of the DESSA 2, we are now in the process of updating each crosswalk to align the respective state's standards and benchmarks to the competencies and items measured by the DESSA 2. We will be updating the PDFs below as each crosswalk is completed. All newly updated crosswalks will include 2024 in the file name.
