Creating Assignment Rules
Overview
This article explains what assignment rules are in the DESSA System as well as how to set them up with step-by-step instructions.
What are assignment rules?
Assignment rules are created by Program Administrators to define who will be assigned to rate students. Although assignment rules can be defined, educators can submit ratings for any of their students.
How to set up assignment rules
- Select the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Select Admin from the drop-down menu.
- Select Assignment Setup from the left-side menu.
- Select the Create Rule button.
- Define which students you wish to assign ratings:
- Grade Levels: Select one or more grade levels.
- Sites: Select one or more sites.
- Choose a condition below to determine the rater for these students:
- Rate students by choice of Class Period, Class Code, or Class Name
- Define which Class Periods, Class Codes, or Class Names by selecting one or more options from the drop-down menu
- Select Save.
- Repeat the process to add more assignment rules. We recommend continuing until you see close to 100% of students assigned to raters.
